Southwest Sweet 16 2015 Recap

Southwest Sweet 16 – 2015 official review.
Aight, so I’m back at the home base, so it’s time for the official review of the first ever Southwest Sweet 16 weekend. First off want to say thanks to Abe, Rien New Ly, Matt Matthew Thao, Erik Chung, Andrew Oledan, Lam Nguyen, the Soul Incredible Unity team, and the Flex Flav Family for helping to make this one happen. Congrats to the following peeps for their hard work and victories:

Sweet 16 Bracket: Bboy DM (All Star Flava, Columbia)
runner up: Noel Pyro Lopez (Flava Pheen, New Mexico)

3v3 Crew Final: Breakadelics, Sweden
runner up: Break the Flav, Italy

1v1 All Style: Hoshito, Japan
runner up: Chiara, Italy

The weekend was full of good vibes, incredible talent, and fun times. Some of the things I will remember for years to come include Will proposing to his now fiance, the crew semi finals and finals, Munch trying to cheat in the headspin competition, all the Japanese all style dancers, the first round of Sweet 16 battles, Trix and his insane ability to keep the crowd live, Fish Boogie and the rest of the Djs spinning heat, North America vs Europe exhibition, and Maurizio’s workshop. Thanks to everyone else that I have forgottent to mention, and for everyone that came and helped make this event a success.

Big ups to Just Him Productions for this recap:

The Northwest Sweet 16/Back to the Culture 2015 Recap

So, the weekend is over, and boy what a weekend. We were very disappointed in the turnout for the event. This was probably our lowest turnout in the 8 years we’ve thrown this jam, but we’ve never tried to go head up against the Seattle summer, so shame on us. With that said, it was the best jam we’ve done as far as talent goes. A truly international jam with b-boys from Sweden, Italy, Columbia, Russia, California, and Japan. Awesome to see the cultures combine.

I’m sure you’d like to know the results, they are as follows:

Northwest Sweet 16 2015 Champ: Jbugz, Soul Felons, Vancouver BC
Runner up: Buckshot, Unleashed, Seattle WA

Crew Competition Champions: Massive Monkees, Seattle WA
Crew Competition Runner Up: Breakadelics, Sweden

All Style Crew Champions: Fly Girls, Canada
All Style Crew Runner Up: Hoshito International, Japan/Italy/Sacramento

Highlights for us included Jbugz vs Buckshot in the finals, super sick to see a clash of the new school and old school NW b-boys. Massive Monkess battling Sweden was one of the best battles I’ve seen period. Fly Girls were incredibly prepared. Their routines would have smashed on any crew that we’ve had in the past.

Footage to come soon, we will populate as soon as we can:

The Bracket for the Northwest Sweet 16 2015 Championship!!!

I haven’t been this excited for a bracket in a long time. This year’s bracket will be full of surprises with new and returning faces. Several notables include Tim the Pitt’s return, our first ever champion’s return (Junior), Jbugz, and Vital. We will have a bracket that you can fill out at the event, with the winner receiving a cash prize.

The Northwest Sweet 16/Back to the Culture Weekend – June 27 & 28

The Northwest Sweet 16 2015 is almost upon us. June 27th and 28th, please be sure to add that to your schedule. Can’t believe it’s the 8th year. The last couple years have been incredibly awesome. 700+ people, b-boys from all over, cyphers, hype battles, and a vibe that’s full of love. Just the way a dope underground jam should be. This year will feature our first non Northwest b-boy, Neato, who won the Seattle open prelim, as well as returning champions. Please share with your friends!northwest-sweet-16-2015-poster

Event Preview for 2015

Hey everyone, we’ve taken some time off for the last couple of months to gather our bizniss. Here is what 2015 is looking like for Outshine Productions:

June 25-28, Northwest Sweet 16/Back to the Culture, back to back events in Seattle Washington. This will be our classic NW Sweet 16 battle, combined with our first International jam with crews from as far as Russia.

July 11th, Southwest Sweet 16 in Sacremento. This jam was getting so big on Facebook, one of our competitors flagged it because they were so scared, lol (they really did). Seriously though, SW will bring together the illest b-boys from Cali, Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and more.

Summer 2015, Northeast Sweet 16 in New York City. The homie Kid Glyde will be partnering with us for the return of the NE Sweet 16. Last year he brought the dopest underground talent through to battle it out in the Mecca, now that it’s established there, nothing will keep 2015’s chapter from bringing the heat.
